Tools for Trade
The Tools for Trade initiative collects donated tools (new and used) to be recycled for use by youth entering the environmentally friendly home renovations field.
Being equipped with one's own tools is a critical element of employability in the trades, and allows youth the best chance possible at successful employment, while keeping high quality used tools out to the landfill.
Have tools you would like to donate? Call Heather at 613-236-9300 ext 312 or email hhunter@spcottawa.on.ca.
Tool donations (new and used) are eligible for an income tax receipt.
We gladly accept all non-battery powered tools that are in safe working order. The tools in the highest demand are:
- Hammers (straight and curved claw)
- Nail puller
- Measuring tape
- New hardhats (please note that we cannot accept used hardhats)
- Chalkline and chalk
- Putty knife
- Trowels
- Safety glasses
- Carpenter's pouch/toolbelts
- Speedsquare
- Utility knife
Tools for Trade is part of the Building Greener Futures Together initiative. Thank you for helping to build a skilled workforce!
